Overview

As the 2023 World Hydropower Congress draws towards a conclusion, the Stakeholder Forum provides a space for leaders in the global hydropower community to put forward their reflections on the discussions in Bali and the way forward for the sector.

Senior figures representing governments, the finance community, the renewables sector, NGOs and industry will give concluding statements on the outcomes of the Congress and the recommendations of the Bali Statement on Sustainable Hydropower

Session objectives

  • Outline the headline challenges and opportunities for ensuring hydropower plays its full role in powering sustainable growth, setting the scene for COP28
  • Emphasise the priority actions for governments and the financial sector to enable hydropower development, as set out in the Bali Statement on Powering Sustainable Growth
  • Reaffirm the hydropower sector’s commitment to sustainable development and the principles of the San Jose Declaration
