Please note that neither Arinex nor IHA are responsible for any mandatory quarantine fees, and travel and border responsibility rests with the individual entering Australia.
Passport validity requirements
While the Australian Border Force only requires your passport to be valid for the length of your planned stay, many airlines and countries that you may transit through require at least six months validity remaining on your passport.
There are strict rules about goods you can take into or out of Australia. The Australian authorities X-ray luggage. They inspect, treat and, if necessary, confiscate and destroy items of concern. You must declare anything that may be prohibited or subject to tax or duty.
The Australia Government’s Department of Agriculture and Water Resources works with state and territory governments, industry and the community, to protect the country’s human, animal and plant health by reducing the risk of unwanted pests and diseases arriving in the country. A Department of Agriculture and Water Resources biosecurity officer may inspect declared goods during your border clearance.
Shortly before landing in Australia, you will receive an Incoming Passenger Card (IPC), a mandatory document, which is strictly used for immigration, customs, and biosecurity clearance. Completing the IPC correctly ensures a smooth arrival process. For more information on the IPC card, click here.
Quantas partnership
Arinex maintains a close, ongoing partnership with Qantas, the flag carrier of Australia, and the largest airline in Oceania by fleet size, international flights, and international destinations. A founding member of the Oneworld airline alliance, Qantas is the only airline in the world that flies to all seven continents from its hubs in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Brisbane. It also flies to over 60 domestic destinations across Australia.
The Congress delegates can enjoy discounted fares on Qantas-operated flights by booking their flights through a special link that will be sent to them via email upon completion of the registration process.
The Congress delegates from Australia are also encouraged to join a Qantas Frequent Flyer program, Australia's largest loyalty scheme, to earn and redeem points on flights, hotel stays, car rentals, and everyday retail purchases. Points can be spent on Classic Flight Rewards, cabin upgrades, and merchandise. Residents of Australia or New Zealand normally pay an upfront joining fee (AUD 99.50 or NZD 60, respectively) to join this program; however, the Congress delegates based in Australia or New Zealand will be able to join for free by entering a special code during the program registration process. The fee waiver code will be sent via email upon completion of the registration process.
