Lead Energy Specialist - Hydropower

Nicolas Sans is a Lead Energy Specialist in the Energy and Extractives Global Practice at the World Bank. He holds a Master's of Engineering degree in Hydraulics and Civil Engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Hydraulique et de Mécanique of Grenoble, France. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2014, he was Project Manager for several design studies for large hydroelectric projects, including the Techno-Economic Assessment of the Rogun Hydropower Project in Tajikistan. He is currently overseeing the hydropower projects under preparation or implementation by the World Bank in the East Asia Pacific Region and is the Task Team Leader for the Upper Cisokan Pumped Storage Project in Indonesia and the Tina River Hydropower Project in Solomon Islands.
