Gabriel Rocha is a civil engineer by training with a Master in Hydraulic Engineering and MBA in Business Management. He joined Worley as an intern and has been growing and developing capabilities in the company ever since. After being a proud member of the hydraulic and hydrology team, he took positions as supervisor, coordinator and project manager of various projects and particularly hydropower and pumped storage projects in all phases of development. His experience covers a wide range of scopes and roles, including environmental and social impact assessments, feasibility study detail design, owners engineering and advisory. Gabriel has also worked as engineering manager of the power team of Worley’s São Paulo office, with over 150 people. Having become the Global Hydropower Technology Lead for Worley, he participates in projects in over 20 countries in all five continents. In addition, Gabriel is responsible for business development of low carbon energy projects in Brasil. He has been the Worley representative for IHA over five years and was recently elected to the IHA Board, representing the South America Region.
