Jahanzeb is an ESG Operations Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – The World Bank Group. He is a part of the Sustainability & Gender Solutions (CEG) Department and works with the regional team to provide E&S advisory support for South Asia, East Asia & Pacific. His role involves providing advisory support to investment teams to address E&S issues in various sectors. Jahanzeb also manages low-capacity clients, including industries, governments, and consultants, to ensure compliance with E&S standards. He collaborates closely with environmental and other regulators to develop and implement tools that improve E&S governance.

In his previous roles, Jahanzeb worked as a Corporate E&S Lead, Project Manager, Consultant and researcher. With over 22 years of experience in E&S risk management, Jahanzeb has worked across multiple sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, chemical & pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, cement, hydropower & other renewables, etc. He has worked for various countries, including Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, the Philippines, South Korea, the UK, Laos, etc.

Jahanzeb has hands-on experience planning, developing and enforcing the E&S standards at many large-scale infrastructure projects. He also has significant knowledge in managing projects in environmentally sensitive and politically fragile areas.
