Dr Óli G.B. Sveinsson is the Director of Hydropower Research and Development at Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland and also the Chief Engineer of Landsvirkjun Power, a subsidiary of Landsvirkjun. He has a PhD in Civil Engineering specialising in hydrological processes from Colorado State University. Since 2004 he has worked for Landsvirkjun as well as its subsidiaries. Dr Sveinsson is a board member and Vice President of the International Hydropower Association (IHA) and Landsvirkjun is a proud sustainability partner of IHA and received the IHA Blue Planet Prize in 2017 for the Blanda hydropower project.
