GHG emissions from reservoirs: standards, methods and best practices

Accurately assessing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from hydropower reservoirs is increasingly important for sustainable project planning. In addition, disclosure of annual GHG emissions from reservoirs is now a requirement of the GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Standard.  

This objectives of this workshop are to:

• Introduce methodologies of accounting for GHG emissions from reservoirs, including IHA’s industry guidelines on meeting GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Standard
• Provide a practical introduction to the G-res Tool  
• Share solutions on GHG removals
