They share live signals to absorb large load swings and stabilise frequency far more effectively than either asset alone, including under isolated grid conditions.

This has resulted in a genuine symbiosis, with the battery taking on the rapid, wear-inducing load changes, and hydropower's controllability keeping it reliably recharged. This is part of ANDRITZ’s broader hybrid portfolio, including its HyBaTec system, and reflects a company-wide push to modernise how hydropower is automated, controlled, and integrated with storage.
